South-west of the Meadows, Bruntsfield and Morningside are the city’s residential villages: shops and cafés along Bruntsfield Place and Morningside Road, Bruntsfield Links, the family-run Dominion cinema and, further south, the Hermitage of Braid.
The Links
Bruntsfield Links, with Leftfield looking over them and Hendersons on Barclay Place.
Morningside
The Dominion cinema and, beyond, Blackford Hill and the Hermitage of Braid.
Come for a slow afternoon of independent shops.
Our advice: walk up Blackford Hill for the view back over the city.
