East Lothian’s coast runs east from the city past Aberlady and Gullane to North Berwick, where the Scottish Seabird Centre looks out to the Bass Rock, and on to Tantallon Castle, the Red Douglases’ cliff-top fortress (Historic Environment Scotland). ScotRail trains run from Waverley to North Berwick.
